The WCREW 20th Showcase & Woman of the Year Awards will be held virtually on October 29, 2020. Recognition of individuals and businesses delivering a positive impact does not go unnoticed as the event draws over 250 local professionals. Due to Covid-19 and for the safety of our members, nominees, and attendees, we have decided to host this years’ Showcase Awards virtually. We can’t wait to share all of the engaging things we have planned for you.

Woman of the Year:
Each year, WCREW recognizes a WCREW member who has somehow made a positive impact on Wisconsin’s commercial real estate industry. The ideal nominee’s impact may be very visible, or she may an unsung hero, whose behind-the-scenes efforts have quietly helped shape our community through leadership, mentorship, deal-making, commitment to diversity, or entrepreneurial spirit. Above all else, she must embody the mission of WCREW.
Congratulations to Heather Nelson, Woman of the Year
Heather Nelson, a Sr. VP at Spring Bank is WCREW’s 2020 Woman of the year. Heather earns the accolade with leadership in WCREW and a proponent of small business in Milwaukee. For nearly 30 years Heather has been a commercial lender, helping entrepreneurs establish their businesses, achieve success and realize their own American Dream.
Project of the Year Award:
WCREW proudly recognizes pioneering developments that showcase vision and ingenuity that positively impact our communities. Our respected Showcase Judges will select the top 5 projects out of these nominations. From which attendees will select the Project of the Year during the event.

In celebration of our 20th year, WCREW is highlighting 20 of our winning projects from the past 20 years! Our esteemed Showcase Judges will select the top project, that has positively impacted the community the greatest in the past 20 years.
Congratulations to the Milwaukee Art Museum, Twenty in 20 Award winner!
The Quadracci Pavilion is the iconic sculptural addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum designed by Santiago Calatrava. The Spanish architect was inspired by the “dramatic, original building by Eero Saarinen...the topography of the city” and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie-style architecture. This is one if not the most notable projects of our times. It started the rebirth of the Milwaukee lakefront that continues today.
